My story at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven

"I applied to KU Leuven in 2016 as I had heard from some of my peers in high school in Malaysia that Europe is a good place for higher education because of its price/quality ratio. Hence, I looked up the best European universities and found KU Leuven. I came to Belgium hoping for an exotic and challenging academic adventure, which - I can now safely say - I got."

"I have completed my bachelor’s degree and am currently in the master’s programme because of the quality and convenience. In addition, KU Leuven also attracts a diverse group of students from different parts of the world – from North America all the way to Australia. This melting pot has refined my cultural understanding and enriched my academic experience."

"Classes at KU Leuven are rigorous and demanding. Working hard is not just expected but required for success. On the flipside, you have a lot of freedom in your approach and plenty of opportunities as the exam periods are spread in time and the professors are very eager to help - provided that you do ask them questions. Moreover, there are plenty of workshop and events throughout the year, which are useful to get the much-needed exposure to start a career."

"Living in bilingual Brussels as an international student can sometimes be a bit challenging because of confusing logistics and administration. However, in my opinion adversity builds character. Plus, the people at KU Leuven’s student’s offices are always helpful when you ask for assistance. So rest assured that when things get complex, you will find adequate support to assist you during your wondrous stay in the land of beers, waffles and fries!"
