EFMD Equis Accredition

The Faculty of Economics and Business earns EQUIS accreditation and asserts its place amongst the top business schools in the world

EQUIS Accreditation is awarded by the EFMD, recognized globally as an accreditation body of quality in management education with established accreditation services for business schools and business school programmes, corporate universities and technology-enhanced learning programmes.

EQUIS  looks for a balance between high academic quality and the professional relevance provided by close interaction with the corporate world. A strong interface with the world of business is, therefore, as much a requirement as a strong research potential. EQUIS attaches particular importance to the creation of an effective learning environment that favours the development of students’ managerial and entrepreneurial skills, and fosters their sense of global responsibility. It also looks for innovation in all respects, including programme design and pedagogy.

Institutions that are accredited by EQUIS must demonstrate not only high general quality in all dimensions of their activities, but also a high degree of internationalisation.
The Faculty of Economic and Business achieved the EQUIS accreditation after an extensive accreditation process. The accreditation affirms FEB's place amongst the select group of accredited schools such as Amsterdam Business School, BI, Copenhagen Business School, Edhec, HEC Paris, IESE, IMD, Insead, Judge, London Business School, Melbourne Business School, RSM, Saïd, Stockholm School of Economics, Tsinghua, ...
Prof. Luc Sels, Dean of FEB:

“We are of course extremely proud and happy about the Awarding Body’s decision. We have always had a strong reputation when it comes to research and research-driven education in economics and business studies. The EQUIS accreditation will help us to signal those strengths on the international scene, and to further increase the attractiveness of our School for international students and our corporate partners.”

“The greatest value of the accreditation was in the self-assessment and in the discussions with the peer-review team. In 2013 our School acquired two large campuses in Antwerp and Brussels. The EQUIS accreditation process definitely accelerated the integration of these new campuses. The assessment of our quality and performance against the EQUIS standards helped us to describe the priorities in this major organizational change and to place them in context”.
