Corporate and research chairs
Current research chairs
2023 - 2026 Euroclear Chair on Predictive Process Mining for Financial Market Infrastructure Services
Financial market infrastructures are an essential component of our global economic environment as they ensure both market efficiency and enable a reduction of risks. The objective of the chair is to promote in-depth research tracks regarding predictive process mining, with the main aim of innovating the management of core processes within financial market infrastructures from a reactive to a data-driven proactive approach. The chair will contribute to the research field by developing new techniques and applications capable of delivering robust and accurate predictions of business processes.
Chairholder: De Weerdt, J. / Co-holder: De Smedt J. & vanden Broucke
2022 - 2025 Brussels Airport Chair: Smart airport operational analytics
The purpose of the Chair is to promote indepth research tracks concerning predictive analytics, forecast modelling and business process operations. The Chair will contribute to research area by developing new techniques and applications that are able to tackle the requirements of a modern airport.
Chairholder: vanden Broucke, S. / Co-holder: De Weerdt, J. & Lemahieu, W. / Researcher: Brecht Wuyts
2016 – 2026: BNP Paribas Fortis Research Chair on Fraud Analytics
The purpose of the Chair is to advance the knowledge of how data analytics can be effectively applied in transactional fraud. To detect fraud in an early stage, we will focus on preprocessing and analyzing historical data using advanced machine learning techniques. The specific nature of transactional fraud requests the need to develop new and adapted methods that are able to handle large data sets in which fraud is a very rare event. We will study and develop new fraud detection methods that are based on graph theory, cost-sensitive learning and causal machine learning methods.
