My story at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven

"It’s day 1 of my new life. After a few visits to the administration, some email exchanges with the people in charge of enrollment, there I was, getting started with the BBA programme at KU Leuven, Campus Brussels."

"Lodged in the heart of Brussels, the campus is literally minutes away from anything you can dream of as a student: bars (check Scott’s neighbouring the university), clubs, shopping areas (rue Neuve will get you anything you need), restaurants, museums (Magritte, one of Belgium’s emblematic painters), theatres (Bozar for art exhibitions, dance or world music), cinemas and much more."

"Once the academic years starts and you want to get involved in your student life you’ll be blessed with a number of awesome societies: KUL Brussels MUN (Model United Nations), if you’re interested in politics, want to improve your public speaking skills and meet awesome people, then get into your finest suit and join them. The Business Student Society will help you broaden your business knowledge, get some hands-on experience and organise and join some phenomenal parties. There are also a number of regular seminars which take place on campus where top business, academic or political figures are invited to speak!"

"What about classes? I was particularly thrilled about a first-year course called the “Social Profit Project”, a very hands-on experience during which groups of students had to organise a profitable event, from A to Z, and donate their profits to charity. Whether it is about meeting deadlines, managing to work in a team, organizing a compelling and valuable event, these are all challenges you’ll be facing! In my third year, I took a course called “Business Plan”: we had to come up with an idea for a business and how to develop it. We were even offered funding opportunities for the best projects to be implemented!"

"A few notes on my own experiences as a student. I primarily chose the BBA programme because it is one of the only English bachelors’ programmes in Belgium and that the tuition fee is very affordable. My guess was that it would be very international and indeed, the mix of nationalities, cultures, opinions.. surrounding me was incredible. This has broadened my views, brought me contacts in all corners of the world (we are studying business, that’s invaluable) and made my time at University tremendously interesting."

"With two friends, we went to Warsaw to represent our university in a world-class negotiation competition against leading law&business schools from around the world and brought back 3rd place! KU Leuven funded our participation. The following year, I went to Hanyang University in Seoul, South-Korea as an exchange student for one year and lived an unbelievable cultural and human experience. I will be going on an extended Master’s, offered by KU Leuven, to Bangalore in India. I cannot wait to be there!"

"These are just a few personal examples that show how much you can experience by studying the BBA and the MBA at KU Leuven, Campus Brussels."

"Choosing these studies has forged my character, expanded my horizons, given me some strong theoretical and practical knowledge and allowed me to create friendships that’ll last me a lifetime."
