My story at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven

"Prior to my university studies I have lived and studied at a secondary school in Brussels for two years, so I am not a typical international student, but rather a foreigner with local experience in Belgium. I chose the Bachelor of Business Administration programme organised at KU Leuven’s Brussels Campus because it offers a fantastic synthesis of an outstanding university reputation, an excellent academic offering, a very convenient and accessible location, a reasonable price, and, of course, a broad programme which combined my interests in mathematics, languages and humanities."

"During these three years at KU Leuven in Brussels, my expectations were more than fulfilled: a professional and very helpful faculty, an international community of students, interesting courses and occasional inspiring events and opportunities. Although I have not participated in all social and extracurricular activities and study opportunities offered - they are truly numerous -, I have significantly progressed both personally and professionally. My network has grown, my worldview has expanded, and my future career plans have become more refined and clear. Thus, even if you are not too social, outgoing and extraverted (which can be perfectly fine, even in the business world), you will still be offered a wide variety of possibilities for development and fun here! Located in the heart of Western Europe, Brussels is a hub of opportunities in itself, with offices of many multinationals and intergovernmental organisations, endless options for international travel and work and great accessibility. If you are interested, you can also visit the numerous wonderful castles in Belgium!"

"For prospective students who want to live in Brussels, I want to highlight the diversity of both the city and my BBA class. You can find people, events, shops and even cultural sites for foreigners from so many countries that you can surely discover ways to feel at home, however far away you physically are. Of course, living away from your loved ones may not be easy, but you there are great people amongst the university staff and students who can help you both practically and emotionally."

"With regards to the language barrier my experience is that you can generally live in Brussels speaking English only, but some small language issues may arise, especially when dealing with governmental organisations. Knowing some basic French or Dutch can help. For example, I have learned French prior to coming to Belgium."

"You can always contact me for any further questions. I will be delighted to answer them as well as to see you in Brussels!"
