My story at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven

“My experience as a student at the Faculty of Economics and Business has been wonderful so far. After finishing my high school education in a Flemish school, I immediately knew I wanted to pursue my studies at KU Leuven. I was convinced because the university is renowned worldwide and also intrigued by the favourable word-of-mouth shared by people in my surroundings.”

“I started the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) programme in September 2018 and graduated in June 2021. Before applying I did not know yet what kind of a career I wanted to pursue. The BBA has a variety of business-related courses, such as finance, accounting, marketing and economics. Studying these different tracks helped me to see more clearly how I wanted to shape my career and what direction I wanted it to take.”

“Even though my bachelor’s student life had to move online halfway through the curriculum because of the coronavirus pandemic, I can still proudly say that this programme was the best decision I have made. The international environment, the dynamic atmosphere, the multidisciplinary study approach and the continuous support by the Faculty of Economics and Business were all a worthwhile experience. FEB offers several opportunities for students to develop themselves and shape their future career through exchange programmes, summer schools, internship fairs, workshops… The workshops of Career Corner, the faculty’s platform for job-related activities, for example, include how to write a CV or how to prepare for an interview. I highly recommend students to participate.”

“On top of the academic life, the university also has a wide range of student organisations and  I am part of one of them. Anyone looking for an extracurricular activity should join. Not only do you get to know a lot of fellow students, but you can also learn new skills, challenge yourself by getting out of your comfort zone - and all of that while having a lot of fun.”

“Finally, the university is well located in Brussels, the heart of Europe. From Brussels’ Central Station it only takes a five minutes’ walk to the university. If you are looking for a place to eat, you can find many affordable restaurants nearby. And if you need a place to study, you can go to the library in T’ Serclaes building. The 8th floor has a beautiful view on the city. If the study places are taken, you can also go to a café.”
