Ask Laura

My story at the Faculty of Economics and Business, KU Leuven

"My name is Laura and I am a Flemish speaking 'Brusseleir'. Growing up at the heart of Europe taught me to be open minded and appreciate the international mindset. That is also why I pursued an English taught MBA degree at FEB KU Leuven Campus Brussels. Throughout my entire study career I had the wonderful opportunity to get involved into multiple projects such as the KU Leuven Brussels MUN team where I was the VP and the Brussels MEU conference which I co-organised as the general manager together with an amazing team (of which many also study at FEB)."

"Also, the Honours Programme was a great experience, as I got the chance to attend lectures from inspiring leaders such as Herman Van Rompuy, Frank Smets, and so forth."

"In terms of professional experience I took advantage of the internships offered on the campus' job fair and ended up working a summer at Estée Lauder Companies for Tom Ford Beauty, Smashbox and Origins. Moreover, the international study visit, to London in my case, is something I look back on with a huge smile. Company visits to Lloyd's, Google, Mindshare, Saatchi&Saatchi, JP Morgan, etc. only inspired me even more to pursue my professional dreams!"

"Lastly, due to, or should I say, thanks to my urge for travelling, I could not resist to go on exchange, not once, but twice. Towards the end of my Bachelor degree I left for an exchange to Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and for my MBA I was a lucky Erasmus student at Université Paris-Dauphine."

"Overall, I am a proud KU Leuven Brussels alumni and I feel very thankful for the great opportunities the FEB has given me to reach my full potential as well as to foster my love for entrepreneurship, international relations and even travelling."

"One tip I have for any prospective FEB student: please take advantage of the possibilities offered by the campus, being a student is fun, definitely, but going a bit further than just going to class allows you to reach your professional as well as personal objectives in the future faster and besides, it is so much fun."
